You don't? Maybe it was "become fearless in facing death" Or "reflexively follow orders" Or "being told what to think" Or "sleep deprivation" Or "breaking down the individual"

Or any number of others, that sound like Jim Jones and his suicidal cult, or a robot factory, but not anything like the U.S. military.

Face it, you are talking about something you know nothing about. Unless you consider yourself a product of brainwashing in something other than the U.S. military. If you have been brainwashed yourself, somewhere, then I bow to your superior knowledge on the subject of "brainwashing."
