I do not live in Danville. Thank god. I have been in Chicago area since 1975. My brother still lives in Danville however. His whole life. I was asked this on the FOOL. No offense, Mish, but what keeps people there? Is there any industry? My reply: GM had a foundry there at one time. Long long gone. In Tilton actually but that borders Danville. Peterson Puriton (aerosal filling) plant was there, also long gone. The home of "Chuckles" candy was there. Gone. All kinds of other plants .... Gone. What keeps people there? Trapped and or unwilling to leave. The VA hospital thanks to Uncle Joe is still there. Oddly enough, or not oddly enough there are far far far far more shops there than when I grew up. Restaurants, pizza places, shopping malls, grocery stores, specialty food stores, coffee shops, you name it. Population down 25%, number of shops up 300% if not 1000%. Mish
