Thanks to those who have given excellent posts in this area.

Is there a security-performance issue in partitioning or even with multiple drives?

I have a very high level of security, plus NAV and ZA pro. My computer's performance is notably slowed by my internet paranoia.

My question is this:

Can I "unprotect" a drive or a partition and use that strictly for my internet operations?

I imagine the answer is "no," but hoped that an expert such as yourself and others may have a different answer. I suspect that if a worm, trojan or virus gets on one's machine, no drive or partition is safe.

Thanks in advance per usual.
