I expect you to stick to disagreeing with posters' opinions without any personal attacks or challenges to integrity. I am not going to let this thread disintegrate into incivility. You can disagree with someone's post by disagreeing with their ideas. You need to stay away from casting moral judgments on other posters. It is particularly reprehensible to suggest that unexamined, flag-waving patriotism makes a poster morally superior to others. I am really serious about all of this. The fact that American presents economic opportunities for those from countries where it is harder to build wealth does not make it such a great place that it cannot be criticized for the things that are wrong, historically and right now. It is true that we do not live in fear of being dragged out of our beds and shot to death for criticizing the government, and that is certainly a plus, but there are many countries around the world that also guarantee rights like freedom of speech, and most of them have higher standards of living, and better benefits all around for their populations, than America does.
