You might want to scan this thread: siliconinvestor.com The concensus there is that we've reached the RE top in the some bubble areas. How much carnage will ensue is debated. Some estimates put 50% of US jobs as currently related to real estate in some fashion, so, it might be REAL bad if RE goes south. In San Diego county, only 11% of the population can qualify for a conventional loan on the median priced house there.
