Yes, Bush has a 28% approval rating on handling of the war.
More than 50% believe he lied to take us to war. 58% disapprove of Bush in general. About the same amount feel the war was a mistake and not worth it. And Bush has dropped to below 50% on character and leadership issues as well.

Also, if diehard Republicans were honest they'd agree with most of the war protesters. But many of them are responsible for parroting Bush's lies so they don't want to come off as hypocrites. They are hoping against hope that somehow Bush pulls it out, but he won't. He can't. He's creating more terrorists than he's destroying.

Clearly, the majority of Americans want this war to end sooner instead of later and do not want to "stay the course".
This is similar to the Vietnam situation around 1970.

Sheehan is a typical American in an atypical situation. Bushies smear her out of sheer desperation, because they know she's just a grass roots war mom trying to tell the truth. But every time they smear her they lose more support. Meanwhile Bushies continue lying about Iraq, and that is not doing the troops any good. If you want to help the troops, bring them home and make sure we never go to war based on fabrications and oil profits again.
