Most of Saddam's crimes took place on Reagan's watch and Reagan either approved or did nothing about it. Rumsfield sold arms to Saddam for the Reagan administration. They gave Saddam a 500 million credit line. Reaganites also traded arms with the Iranians.

This includes all of the charges rightwingers use against Saddam about WMD's and most of them about and mass graves. All during Reagan's watch.

According to his prison guards, Saddam is a big fan of Reagan and can't stand the Bushes because he feels they betrayed him. Saddam thought he had Bush Sr',s permission to invade Kuwait. Indeed Iraq did ask April Glaspie what she thought about the Kuwaiti oil problem and Glaspie said the US was neutral. The current gas gouging is making Saudis and Iranians much richer. At our expense.

Saddam was not in league with Islamic radicals. More likely, he feared them. That said, it's not impossible they might have someday workd together, but that's all speculation. We do know however that Saudi Arabia has helped fund Islamic terrorists. With money we pay them for oil. We also bought oil from Saddam and Iran.
