Yes, obviously a lot of info is needed which isn't in the annual report to work out which of these firms are in a better financial state than the others. You can get an idea how much they are paying for new land and how much of it.

The funny thing is that Forbes are touting WLS as one of the best value mid-cap stocks because of the low P/E...

There are lots of things one can find out about in the annual report - particularly lots of transactions with entities controlled by Lyon and his affiliates.

Their average sale price in CA is now $870k up about $200k on last year.

Cost $2.2 milion to investigate General Lyon's proposal to take the company private...

Seems they got out of the mortgage business from the latest quarterly report.

Anyway the chart looks ripe from an E-Wave analysis.
