Scary will be the "solutions" the politicians find to "solve{ a problem.

In the mid 1970s high prices, drastic measures were put in place by the government to promote savings.

The International Energy Agency recently brought out a book called Saving Oil in a Hurry and some countries had put its advice into practice. Fuel-saving tips included speed-limit reductions on highways, car pooling, designated car-pool lanes on motorways and park-and-ride lots. Others were banning the use of cars with odd and even registration numbers on alternate days and creating bus lanes.

Other suggestions were to allow some staff to work from home on certain days of the week and flexitime, which eased traffic congestion, a major contributor to fuel wastage.

This one will be embraced 'con gusto' by civil servants!!!

Can someone tell people that Almost half of the average home's energy consumption is used for heating. Another 17 percent is used for water heating, 6 percent for cooling rooms, and 5 percent for refrigeration.

I can see people saying go by the stairs ways instead by the elevators, switchoff your PC, and all kinds of stupidity.

In the end the economy will face the X-ray machine, the plastic cuttlery and the shoes off equivalent.
