I understand your position. Sheehan has been very successful, which is why people (especially conservatives) are so angry with her. I think some of the ugly mud slinging by conservatives has made some liberals uncomfortable- what I think some liberals do not realize is that any strong anti-war figure would be demonized by the conservatives and called "crazy", because that is their way. So Sheehan is, imo, probably as good as anyone else, and maybe better since she actually seems to be doing a great job.

I would have supported her right to speak no matter what she was saying, just as I support the dad of the other dead solider who has the competing demonstration (interestingly the conservatives seem to find his use of his dead son not a bit "deranged"). But because I agree with Sheehan's message, and because she is effective, I not only support her right to speak, I agree with what she is doing. I wasn't sure at the outset that she would be effective- but she has been, and I'm glad of it.
