I think you are over-simplifying it. Our objective is to make it an environment where there is "something for everyone". You don't want to use Ban or Ignore? So be it. You do want to use them? Fine, that's your prerogative. You want to argue for "free speech"? Forget about it; that's a constitutional obligation of the Federal government - neither private enterprise nor individuals have any obligation to extend or protect "freedom of speech" rights to others.

It is not as uncomplicated as you suggest. For everyone who believes it should be done their way, there is someone who believes the opposite. There are usually good arguments to be made for both sides, so enabling people to the means to exercise their personal preferences is the best solution.
