HURRICANE KATRINA CONTINUES TO BECOME BETTER ORGANIZED AND IS LIKELY TO BE A CATEGORY 4 STORM BEFORE DAYBREAK. RECENT SATELLITE PICTURES ARE HINTING THAT SHE MAY FINALLY BE MAKING A TURN TO THE NORTH. MOST COMPUTER GUIDANCE STILL PLACE LANDFALL AROUND OR ACROSS SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA ON MONDAY. THIS WOULD MAKE FOR A DIRECT HIT BY A HURRICANE STRONGER THAN BETSY. IF YOU ARE STILL DECIDING TO STAY OR LEAVE, THE WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY IS OPEN UNTIL ABOUT NOON TO LATE AFTERNOON ON SUNDAY. A DIRECT HIT WILL CRIPPLE THE CITY FOR MANY DAYS. IF I COULD LEAVE, I WOULD HAVE LEFT WITH MY WIFE THIS AFTERNOON. YOU NEED TO ERROR OR THIS SIDE OF SAFETY WITH THIS STORM.

BOB BRECK

CHIEF METEOROLOGIST

Scary! From the chief meteorologist in New Orleans. Sounds like the beginning of a disaster movie.

CNN shows the hurricane deadheading into New Orleans and based on pressure, its claiming it will be the second worst hurricane to ever hit the US.
