Satellite pictures suggest that the center of the
eye will pass over the Mississippi delta and then
on to Biloxi.

I only have one hour interval satellite pictures,
so I can't really make out true motion from wobbling--
but that would be my guess. (I need to make a disclaimer
that although I happen to be a meteorologist, I don't
know very much at all about forecasting Hurricanes--
just following along reading the Hurricane Center
statements like everybody else).

We will have an intermediate update from
the National Hurricane Center in an hour.

(INTERMEDIATE ADVISORY WILL BE ISSUED BY THE NATIONAL
HURRICANE CENTER AT 2 AM CDT)

I have to say--I am quite amazed that a few days
ago the models had the right idea turning this
storm north and tracking it toward the Mississippi
river. That the New Orleans area and the Mississippi
Gulf Coast have had two full days to evacuate is obviously
a very good thing--it is extremely fortunate that the storm
did not develop much closer to the coast...with less warning.
