That being said, even if it drops to a Cat. 3 (which I am now thinking will be the result) when it hits land, thats still a biggie in terms of human discomfort and property damage, but not BIBLICAL PORTIONS like last night it was seeming to me

The key question now is how big the storm surge will be in the bay. And how far up the Mississippi the surge will go. "New Orleans underwater" seems to be disappearing. The folks in the stadium may be home by tonight.
