Gimme a break.
I have been a member of the SF community for 43 continuous years. Calling me brain-washed is absolutely outrageous and would be pitifully insulting if the persons doing the labeling were not so poorly informed.

The running commentary here that the US Military is brain-washed is subversive. (It is part of an old communist subversion technique.) Ionesco's posts are subversive.
And, my friend, subversion is exactly what terrorism is all about.

I disagree. Fight and flight are as instinctual in humans as breathing and sex.

I don't know what inhibitions you were taught...mine did not include an inhibition to not defend myself and my loved ones.

And who teaches these inhibitions? Certainly not informed preachers. I know of at least seven references in the Bible where the right to fight is ordained.

Our military training today focuses on individual action and thought.
The discussion was being held in a vacuum. If you had just one poster in that discussion who had attended basic training or the SF Q Course, they could have enlightened you.
I suggest ya'll learn what "Army Of One" means.
