| I cannot ban everyone, Ionesco. Especially people who come here for the express purpose of sort of a fly by bird dropping kind of posting. There are people at SI who would love for dozens of people to be banned at Feelies, and I'm not going to give them that pleasure. I really try to take into consideration the person's motives, whether they were just really upset by a post or an idea and have kind of a hot temper, whether they were being intentionally and repeatedly malicious and disruptive, whether if ignoring them might be the best way to make them go away, etc. As I said last night, I have some degree of affection for most of the people who have appeared here over the long term, and I suspect that in 3D we might enjoy each other's company on some level, because this is a very polarizing way to communicate, and I try to keep that in mind, as well. If I were to start wholesale banning people, they certainly wouldn't all be conservatives, either. There is bad behavior on both sides of the spectrum. |
