Ed, your presumption that terrorism is somehow a cause and effect result of US occupation of Iraq is false.

Terrorism is one of the vehicles Al-Quaida type organizations have been using to 'terrify' people into acquiescence of their rule. It has a particularly powerful effect on the collective conscience of Americans who tend to accept their role and responsibility in world affairs, rather than just point the finger of blame. And so, the psyco dramma adds to any suffering we may already be feeling related to our war on the terrorism.

It began long before the US invaded Iraq. It was very effective, as you know, in Afghanistan and was showing lots of promise in other parts of the world. So much so, that no reasonable person would deny the increase in number and severity was significant and fulfilling its own purposes.

The over riding purpose of terrorism is NOT to help the Iraqi people obtain autonomous rule; it IS completely opposed to that goal.

The over riding purpose of terrorism IS to support the successful movement to a World Wide Kaliphate government which IS the goal of the terrorist organizations. It will continue until or unless that goal is realized, or unless such organizations are defeated. It may also escalate in direct proportion to the extent that those goals are frustrated.
