We've lost power as well, but just for a couple of weeks...However it was VERY cold when our area lost power, and no heat, no lights, and no cooking made life "interesting"....We also took a couple of folks in to stay with us for the duration, as they couldn't manage on their own. Certainly made us wonder how our ancestors of 100 years and farther back, did what they did. And they didn't complain either...just lived their lives, and helped others as they could.
