Benedict Arnold also led some raids on Whigs in the Carolinas, though he led British troops, not Tory Militia. They defeated Francis Marion, The Swamp Fox, himself. But his efforts were hampered because British soldiers often refused to serve with him, at least not more than once. A British officer fighting rebels was one thing. A Tory traitor fighting his former comrades was another. So, Arnold, the best general on both sides during the Revolution, was pretty much benched for the duration.
