I dunno about Washington; he was a long haired hemp grower; pretty much stayed out of the free love arena, I think. Best I can do from here is give you a google page; this hospital lets me get on the net, but they think scholarly articles on GW the Hempster are entertainment.
He was a bit refined for a hippy, but then so was Grace Slick.
