If Bush responds to the open-borders business side of the Republican party, many, including myself, will start looking for another candidate to support.

If the Demos had any brains, they'd use this like the Republicans used the gay marriage issue; it's the best wedge issue the Demos have.

They are obviously playing with it, but since polls show less than 20% of Demos care about illegal immigration, they get no support within their own party.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out. I hope the pressure to control our borders keeps growing.

The Republican elite are out of touch with the base, esp. in the West and South West, but it is increasingly becoming an issue in the rural heartland
