You are not the only one unhappy with the President on this issue. Even the right wing talk shows here in Dallas defect from their usual 'defend the administration at all costs' stance on this one. Recently there has been a spate of stories about the border towns and the lack of enforcement and the truly awful things that are happening to the legal residents of these towns because of the inundation of illegals. The problem with not taking charge of it for so long is that the negativity increases toward a people, toward Mexicans-- AND finally toward the administration. The average Texan is tired of supporting the schools, the health care system, the welfare system when the result is a lowering of quality for them, the taxpayers, the legal residents.
What I hear more and more of is that we need to enforce the borders FIRST. What good is the rest when people keep pouring in only to be absorbed and supported.

Is this just another tentacle of the "I don't care as long as it doesn't affect me too much" octopus? Like oil prices? The political plan seems to be, keep personal pain away from your constituents as much as possible and get re-elected....
