where did you go? what are most people who live there doing? mightn't they be displaced for many months if not longer if their dwelling is toast?
i suppose the ones who don't post on SI all day cannot afford to stay in hotels for months on end while doing no work :(
also, i gotta ask: why do people have homes in an area that was so prone to disaster? did they just think it would never happen? i imagine the insurance premiums will go through the roof starting next year (if the insurers survive).
at least most people will survive. we should be thankful for the preparations. best of luck...
