I've always felt that the Libertarians were a bunch of fruitloop nutballs. Some of the ideologies are good though. Oh yes, and generally, I consider myself a small "l" libertarian.

You miss the point. I am not saying that aid should not be given to NO or any other disaster area, I am just saying that it shouldn't be forced. People seem to think that we are a nation of greedy unfeeling bastards who won't help those in need unless a gun is put to our head. That just isn't true. Look at the SE Asia Tsunami aid. I wasn't force, yet I gave, what about the other people on this thread? I bet I am not the only one who gave a couple of bucks to help out.

I think that the nation is a GREAT pet charity. That's why you don't have to force me to be charitable. Obviously those who believe that it must be force, must not think it is a worthwhile enough charity that people would give willingly.
