The rumor is a mass evacuation of EVERY civilian from New Orleans is coming... reporters, everyone.

Its not a rumor. I am watching the tube while I eat lunch. The governor of LA is stating that all people are to be evacuated from New Orleans. Conditions are worsening in the city by the moment and becoming very dangerous. The mayor is saying that 80% of the city is underwater. There is a fire going in what they believe is an oil storage area. Its been burning for two hours now. One of New Orlean's freeways has collapsed. Breaks in the city's levees are increasing. A water main has broken and the water is no longer potable. Buildings are collapsing left and right. To add to the misery, looting is increasing. Incredibly, a reporter asked if the city was to be abandoned completely or would it be rebuilt.

Things are no better in Gulfport or Biloxi. Essentially, Gulfport no longer exists. Where buildings are standing they are many feet away from the their foundations. Many of the casinos have fallen into the ocean. A freeway across a river/lake? is completely gone. There are subdivisions where only half the houses are visible.........all that remains of the other half are the concrete subfloors. The houses themselves have been completely destroyed and the remaining debris pushed up against the houses that still standing........the look is very much like the effects of the tsunami in December. Looting is rampant here as well.

All the Coast Guard is doing is rescuing people from their roofs. In some cases, they are having to break through the roofs to get people out........that means those houses will be destroyed during the next rains.

The governor and senator of LA were speaking to reporters.......the senator now has facial tick......both look exhausted. FLA never looked this bad. A serious blow has been made to the Gulf states and its will take a long, long time for them to recover. The people are very, very scared. It is a very sad day for America.
