Not a story, so don't hold me to the word limit:

When I worked in a Federal Building, every day I had to submit my lunch to an Xray machine and walk through a metal detector. My shoes had steel shanks, so I had to take them off.

A lady on my floor had one of those little dummy grenades with a sign that said, "Complaint Department, pick a number." The only number was #1.

I wondered how in the hell she got that thing into the building. She said her son, a soldier, gave it to her.
