Be careful is right! When I was a teen in Cincinnati in the 50's, my next door neighbor owned a 3-story appartment building like I lived in. One day one of his son's, the same age as me, and I were watching him working on his building's eaves while on a large strong, extension ladder. He shifted his weight and fell the three stories to the concrete. He was killed right in front of us. I'll remember it forever just like it happened two minutes ago. Since then, 50 years ago, I have not been able to get higher than the 2nd rung of any ladder, even a small step stool. I just shake like a tree in a hurricane.
