No large scale system on whole nations ever was, or probably ever will be "perfect socialism" as its early theorists portrayed the idea, but Eastern Europe and other places had socialism as it has been practiced in the real world, and it was a very bad thing.

Sorry, Tim, you seem to have a limited memory. I have said to you before and proved it with links that what was practiced in Eastern Europe at best paid lip service to socialism. Instead it was mostly a hybrid system that operated mostly like an oligarchal form of economy but used the buzzwords most associated with socialism.

Socialism/capitalism as practiced by Germany and Sweden and the UK is mostly a good thing.
