Laugh it up Steve. A lot of the criticisms of our government's pre-9/11 actions are turning out to be true. They were tracking the 9/11 hijackers and specifically the ring leader Atta a year before 9/11/01, and failed to act to protect us. Sometimes when there is smoke there is fire.

Ingore this information at your own peril. New Orleans ignored the threat a major hurricane strike could pose to their city, and look at the chaos that is now ensuing there. I don't know if the flooding and chaos could be entirely avoided. But they certainly could have done a lot more planning and flood control projects to prevent or minimize such a catastrophe. 8,000 National Guard troops from that region are in Iraq instead of at home where they are needed. I don't want to politicize this, because this has been a failure to plan accordingly from the local to federal level by politicians of all stripes.
