All / Newport Petroleum

Shares of Newport began to move abruptly up after this media article.

The way the article was written, it announced the situation in the past tense. However, I think it sparked interest in the possibility and analysts began to push their pencils.

You're looking at a company whose assets are currently cheap in relation to share price and everybody, including me, see's $10.00 a share within twelve months based upon a conservative CF multiple. The Cimarron purchase will begin to look very favorable once their acreage comes into play via exploration and developement. If someone is seriously considering acxquisition of company, shares should be valued at a minimum of $10.00. It's quite possible a company whose shares are trading at a very high cash flow multiple (with reasonable amount of debt) would be interested in Newport. I still believe Newport will establish themselves as a solid senior natural gas producer as we enter the next century.
