Well, most of the models were a direct hit of a Cat. 5, not this slow motion train wreck. For the worse case, more than 100k killed in the immediate wake of the storm. Many more in the aftermath because they just can't get people out fast enough because the roads are out. I know I've read about the possibilities for a couple of decades.

What will shape the future is how we respond.
