jake, thanks for an informative response. although i took your advice and didn't wet my pants today, you didn't mention the McClaren which is made almost solely from carbon fiber. speed to weight ratio of a motorcycle but with over 600 hp with a modified bmw engine, speeds capable of 212mph, but sells for a little less than $1 million. the price tag is an anomaly since the car costs significantly less to make. nevertheless, the research that McClaren garnered from its expermentation with different fibers led them to choose mainly carbon and will assist other car manufacturers in their research/development. i haven't had time to read all your posts jake, but are you long or short this company?

as for the "fastening" of parts - it was Zolt's VP who suggested that this was one of the areas of needed research to create a greater market for carbon, not me
