You seem not to be able to understand or appreciate my sense of humor. That statement about the raw food faddists was intended to be very light, not something for you to use to make sweeping judgments about me.

I actually believe that raw foods in the form of fresh fruits and vegetables should be a major part of anyone's diet. It seems less sensical to eat everything raw, because the nutrients in some foods do not even exist in the raw form. An example would be the extremely beneficial nutrient lycopene, which is available only in cooked tomatoes. And I personally prefer whole grains after they have been softened somewhat, although those little oat and apricot cakes that you can get at many health food stores and coffee houses make of raw oats and fruit are pretty tasty, if you can get over the general buffalo chip hardness of them.

While there is significant scientific research showing the benefits of vegan diets, I haven't seen any on raw foods diets. However, anyone eating so carefully, from organic fruits and vegetables and raw nuts for example, is probably way ahead of the average person re their overall nutrition.
