"Both consortiums, in fact, found that under the most likely ways of conducting the recount — based on what the Gore campaign had asked for...."

The most hilarious thing about this is that --- if EITHER group of lawyers (Gore's or Bush's) had gotten the recount procedures that they asked for ('looser' standards in the case of Gore's people, 'stricter' standards in the case of Bush's), and a FULL RECOUNT had been conducted of ALL of the COUNTIES (including the Republican-leaning panhandle counties, of course) then, under the 'loose' standards Gore argued for, Bush would have won... while under the 'stricter' standards Bush argued for, Gore would have won.

It's the HIGHEST of IRONIES!
