Harvey...

I know you are a man of few words. I can appreciate that. But I'm having a tough time figuring out what you want the Politicians to do about the water temp in the gulf?

Sign Kyoto? Raise gasoline taxes? Prohibit the use of coal and oil? Are you saying that Politicians can and should lower the water temps in the gulf?

Have you seen what's been happening around the country outside New Orleans? In Georgia? Heck, the real shortages haven't even arrived and people already have one foot off the end of the pier!

If you see any politicians talking about signing Kyoto, restricting driving and rationing gas in the next 4 months... I'll show you some future "former" politicians. <g>

I hope for everyone's sake that things don't get any worse after this week. But based on what I see on my little TV screen there are a whole lot of people ...completely outside the disaster zone... who are just a step away from some from of social dementia. Whatever rubber band holds these 24/7 cable media types together has already snapped.

This country hasn't faced stress like this since the civil war... I suppose the depression came close but to a large extent people were far more agrarian, independent and self reliant back them. For the most part our grand parents accepted their pains alone and unseen.

But today we have "rights and entitlements" that cannot be compromised. When sh$t happens, we must be innocent victims of something or someone... And those "somethings and someones" must be made to pay... if not through a massive law suit, then preferably in color and on live TV.

I don't know where our national "tipping point" is Harvey. But I don't need a road map to tell me that we're close. Very close. Far too close to spend time debating the merits of an attempt to fine tune the water temperature in the gulf.
