When a reporter asked the head of military relief about airlifting food, he didn't seem to understand, then hemmed and hawed and said, "oh, you mean strategic airlifts" . . . oh yeah, we have that planned too.

I never got the sense that he fully understood the severity of the problem from the perspective of humanity. He seemed to understand logistics and equipment just fine. But the concept of FORCING whatever equipment that is at hand to get whatever supplies are at hand to the locations that obviously need them most as quickly as humanly possible. . . . well. . .that seemed absolutely foreign to him.
