The country is leaderless. Looks like they'll just let those people die all over New Orleans. No damn excuse for not dropping food, water and meds. No excuse not to have swarms of choppers lifting people out.

What about the hundreds or thousands in the burbs who are trapped in their upper floors or attics? Are they just going to quietly let them die, and then announce that it's been turned into a recovery operation.

Remember Dunkirk... that type of effort is needed to get to the people trapped in the burbs. Can't get them all by chopper as many will be unable to signal outside that they are there.

Drop in a special forces squad to take out the snipers at the hospital and evacuate the hospital. If it was an Arab terrorist squad doing the shooting one can just imagine the enormity of the response. Everyone would be out of that hospital by now. It's disgraceful.

Chopper in a few elected blowhards and get them on the bullhorn flying overhead to tell the crowds at the dome, convention center etc what's being done and when. Once they get a bit of food, water, a bit of lifesaving work, and hear from elected officials, you may be able to calm them down enough to get most of them out without incident.

I'm sensing a severe lack of necessary equipment in all of this inaction. They've got a load of choppers set to arrive next week. That's just too late.
