The way the electoral map looks today, it seems impossible for a Republican to win in 2008. Bush is polling below 40% positive in the key states of OH and MO. All Kerry needed was OH to win in 2004.

This New Orleans disgrace might have finally sunk the Republicans. I can hardly blame them for a hurricane, but I can blame them for horrible planning and response to a very well known threat to the City of New Orleans (this flooding scenario was well understood and documented, even identified by FEMA as one of the three biggest threats to America).

Bush's numbers are sure to be even worse in the next round of polling. 2006 will be interesting. Hopefully, America is finally waking up to the fact that we need to pay a lot more attention to our own country for a change.
