Not sure what you mean? He's going to be there this weekend was the last I heard. My comment was about his getting there when he could- and I;m sure there will be lots of press coverage for it.

This is a disaster of epic proportions for our country. Whether we could have been acted faster, should have realized how truly terrible this would be earlier-- I'm not qualified to judge, so I will just read and try to gather info. I think there will be plenty of time to dissect the woulda, shouldas when things have calmed down. It is awfully easy to armchair quarterback at this point. This was so enormous, so horrifying that As for the infrastructure deterioration- I was just reading that the Army Corps of Engineers has been warning about this since 1965. I am guessing we won't be able to lay this entirely at the feet of this administration. There will be lots of blame to go around, but Bush will bear the brunt of it. This may be the final blow to this numbers.

I will be curious about the National Guard situation. They claim they have plenty of men. It seems more a problem of communication and organization and getting them into the situation effectively.

It sure would have been prudent to have at least 1000 there given the size of the threat. Is that something the states have to request? Or can the govt just send them in?

Off for the day. Try to get away some and take a breath, Cobe. It's a tough time.
