Yesterday the biggest general insurance company in my state (NRMA) announced that they would be spending $100 million on fixing the Y2K problem. They said that every cent would go on developing new client/server applications to replace the old mainframe stuff. Not one cent will go on fixing mainframe cobol programs.

But I heard a rumour that they bought 2000 Ardes disks - Ardes disks were the cheapest coffee coasters available on the market.
