That track is a direct, head-on hit on the center of New Orleans. An unmitigated disaster if it comes to pass...10,000 lives and $100 billion dollars, minimum.<NG>

In fact, the center of the eye on that projected path would pass here (interpolating there data points):

The inner eyewall is currently 9 miles wide so, the west side of the eyewall would pass over downtown NO.....and the southerly winds from the west side of the storm would drive south over the lake, pouring water into town from the north. Hopefully the track will move further east, or MUCH further west.....<NG>
