Warren Buffett was a smart guy to pick up lots of stock in the mobile home manufacturers. WSJ says FEMA this week asked some companies to ship their entire inventories and ramp up production to house "hundreds of thousands of people left homeless" by Katrina.

Almost 8,000 mobile homes were shipped after the FLA hurricanes, and shipments have been rising to retirement areas of Arizona and Nevada, as well to large employers in Mississippi and Alabama that need to house employees.

Buffett reportedly made a big investment in Clayton Homes.

Stocks of Cavalier Homes, Nobility Homes and Fleetwood Enterprises have all gone up substantially, the WSJ says.
