CJ, There might be a reasonable explanation, but I fail to see what it could be.

Boy, if planning for disasters is as easy as making a hammer fall, anyone could do it.

I will agree, though, that the response could have been better. Beyond that, it's way too soon to be pointing fingers at anybody. I understand the need to vent, but adding to the frustration only hinders efforts.

Let me give you still another example of the poor planning. There are two Navy medical ships that were scheduled to go to the damaged areas. One will not arrive until next Thursday. That's bad enough but the second one isn't scheduled to get to the GoM until the middle of Sept. Now who is reponsible for the planning behind the delivery of those ships to the disaster area. The governor? No, its outside of her jurisdication. The mayor? Of course not, he has no control. In fact, its the same people responsible for the whole operation, FEMA and for the mistakes that have been made to date. This is not rocket science......it doesn't take a genious to figure it out. So I don't agree with you......its not too early to point fingers. Thank God, people started pointing fingers yesterday........it finally got FEMA and Bush on the ball and moving.
