I don't think they CARE. So the insurance company goes bankrupt? The CEO and upper management still usually get their golden parachutes (not always, though; a bankruptcy court is the only legal dictatorship I know of in the US). They don't care if they write you a policy that you pay and pay on, and then they bail when you need them. They don't get hurt.
