There are profiteers like oil barrons that are making a killing under Bush. But, how much is that portion of our population? 1% or 2%?!? The other 28% are the hopelessly naive and stupid.

You come across them on the Internet all the time. People who always defend the American government's position no matter how utterly misguided it is. They use the most convulted rational to make the current insanity coming out of DC fit their world view. But they do it all the time. Madness!

I find it rather odd to call them "conservatives", because they show no suspicion of government, no conservatism. It's like a friggin religion to them. I call them American nationalists or statists. We're living in strange times.
