I think you and I are talking about different things. I have nothing against a little socialism. Hell, I've been a big advocate on this threads of a more socialistic tax system that taxes the hell out of the rich and doesn't tax the poor at all.

However, what I have no tolerance for are people who get elected and then slowly but surely start to grab hold of all the reigns of power until no more elections are allowed ever again.

It starts with getting duly elected. Then it continues with created a bogeyman (sound familiar). Then they take it further by looting the countries treasury and rich private sector companies and leading citizens. Then they make that ok by buying the masses. Castro did it with free healthcare and education. Then they start changing the way gov't works. Maybe they propose legislation lengthening their own terms. If the parliament doesn't vote it in, they disband the parliament and appoint a new one that does what its told. Prior to the next election time, they declare elections no long necessary or they buy the election.

We've all seen it a thousand times before.
