That was my point. AVNT and its officers will not be able to use the fifth during the civil case, and logically the criminal case should be held first, because of double jeopardy.

The double jeopardy issue in the case protects them at this point because of the criminal charges against the company and the officers.

The benefit for the civil trial is that Cadence will have the documents from the criminal trial. That is a major benefit to Cadence and a terrible position for AVNT. The state of California will have done some great work for the Cadence legal staff through their trying their criminal case against AVNT.

There is a credibility issue here and AVNT has its job cut out for them to sell people on the idea that everyone else is wrong and that they are innocent. A picture is worth a thousand words. I wish I could post a photo of the AVNT boys in handcuffs to remind everyone daily who we are talking about.
