I too heard some time ago that the Hunt Brothers had taken some kind of position, but could never get the company to confirm. Also have heard recently that the Hunts were selling, but again no confirmation.
Your 20% profit story could explain why they would sell at this level.

Soros does have a major say in what the company does and I would doubt his agreeing to this, however, maybe they couldn't comprehend the stock price being this low here.
