Slag, Ray Duray was one of the excellent posters in that he had a high energy and thinking brain behind his posts.

His vituperative attacks were a badge of honour.

SI is worse off without him.

He rode roughshod over terms of use and maybe he rode roughshod over laws too for all I know, though I never saw him making threats of violence or other illegal statements. Maybe he was continually defamatory though I don't recall any of that either. He was vituperatively abusive, which is quite another thing and perfectly legal [as far as I know anyway].

I agree, bring back Ray. He should be given a free membership so he can be banned every week or two, just to rile him up a bit, without getting into money arguments.

People who don't like him can click "ignore", or "ban".

Kudos to you for your polite response to Ray DURAY's insulting and inflammatory post. You're fairly new to SI so you may not know that Ray is a living carnival sideshow exhibit, a sort of wild and hairy missing link, forever rattling and banging on the bars of his mental cage. He's been permanently banned from SI at least once but was allowed to return for his entertainment value as far as I can tell. It's just so amusing when he's caroming around on one of his loose-cannon rants and he runs smack into someone like you, armed with the facts. Splat. Very Keystone Cops.
