Hi Jack,
Not to ramble but I'm kept awake after a nasty run-in with a traffic cop yesterday.
When I say to Yhwh, "why don't you show yourself?" ... and then I raise my eyes I see Yhwh, right there in front of me in and about creation, almost as if to reply, "don't you see Me?"
I do believe in the day where "God" will rule directly, but this free will we've been given precludes that for now.
I would say that, as a "civilization" (quotation marks intentional and denoting "so-called"), we're walking a very tight rope just about now.
Has anyone here considered that the missing links in evolution are due to sudden changes in our design? For instance, the last version was unsatisfactory to "God" so it was summarily wiped out and we were the replacement?... What if we are being tested for our "viability" and if, after these thousands of years our time runs out and we are replaced by "the new model," simply because we've failed to become civilised?
Let's face it, we have a culture but not a civilization... if indeed "civilization" means that we're civil to one another.
Again, to me civilization is based upon personal liberty and personal responsibility. Take away one or the other or both and you have various and sundry brands of tyranny.
